Raytheon Solipsys moving HQ to Howard County

A Raytheon Corp. subsidiary based in Laurel is moving to Howard County, where it will take over a lease abandoned by the former Duratek Inc. earlier this year.

Duratek, which initially signed a lease for 44,000 square feet at 8170 Maple Lawn Blvd. in Fulton, was acquired in February by Salt Lake City-based EnergySolutions. Duratek had been scheduled to move into the building in August.

Tracy Hartsock, spokeswoman with Corridor Reznick LLC, said Raytheon subsidiary Raytheon Solipsys has signed a 10-year lease for the space plus an additional half-floor at the building and is scheduled to move its headquarters there in December.

Solipsys, founded by former Johns Hopkins Applied Physics engineers in the late 1990s, specializes in high-tech business products for the defense industry. It was acquired by Raytheon Corp. in 2004.
